The Plan of
God's Salvation
Salvation is God's plan, paid for by the sacrifice
of Jesus Christ on the cross at Calvary, and made real to individuals by the
work of the Holy Spirit.
Man's only hope of redemption is through the shed
blood of Jesus Christ the Son of God.
Conditions to Salvation
Salvation is received through repentance toward God and faith toward the
Lord Jesus Christ. By the washing of regeneration and renewing of the Holy
Ghost, being justified by grace through faith, man becomes an heir of God,
according to the hope of eternal life.
Luke 24:47, John 3:3, Romans 10:13-15, Ephesians
2:8, Titus 2:11, Titus 3:5-7
The Evidence of Salvation
The inward evidence of salvation is the direct witness of the
Spirit.
Romans 8:16
The outward evidence to all men is a life of righteousness and true
holiness.
Ephesians 4:24, Titus 2:12
A person enters in this plan by:
-
Recognizing a personal need for a savior
-
Believing on Jesus Christ as Lord
-
Confessing his/her sinfulness and seeking
forgiveness from God
-
Trusting God to forgive all sins and give a
new life spiritually.
A believer in Christ grows
spiritually by:
-
Reading and studying God's word, the Bible,
-
Talking often with God through Prayer,
-
Joining a group of fellow believers who
share the common goal of following Christ,
-
Expressing Love & Thankfulness to God by
worshipping in a community of believers,
-
Receiving the gifts God has given to the
church (pastors, teachers, etc.),
-
Sharing his/her gifts, talents and
resources to help others in the church family, and
-
Telling others about Jesus and what He can
do for them.
Have you decided to follow Christ?
You can pray a
prayer like this to let God know of your desire to trust Him:
"Dear God, I know that you love me. I am sorry for my sins. I admit them
to you and ask you to forgive me and wash me clean. I believe Jesus died on
the cross for me and that I need Him to save me. Lord, come into my life
today. Make me a new person. Give me a new start. I want to follow you from
this moment on. Thank you for hearing me and for your forgiveness. In Jesus
name, amen."
